Moved to convert because of a miraculous sign, the Roman guard Adrian faces imperial persecution and death for embracing the Christian faith.  His wife desires to share in his suffering and strengthens his resolve.  The Academy's semi-staged production, accompanies by Baroque-style instruments, stars the young Brazilian countertenor Victor Bento. A Western Hemisphere premiere.

It was a fascinating follow-up to our opening lecture by Jim Boulden of the Popham family, and we're so fortunate to have so many talented historians in our parish, like Hadley. Our next Anniversary Lecture will be on November 3, with Russell Crane presenting on the 1860s-1880s. More information coming soon.

Our next Breakfast Run is on Sunday, October 20.  We start preparing around 7 am, and then leave the church for the city around 8:15 am. Every Tuesday, Mo. Storm sends out "Member News," information about our parish ranging from the Renew and Revitalize Task Force's work on our property to meditations, book suggestions, member links and reminders/housekeeping matters, and more. The newsletter is mainly for pledging members of the parish who are interested in the "inner workings" of what goes on, but all may subscribe. Our Halloween Extravaganza just got even better! In addition to the usual and popular events we offer--the Annual Graveyard Tour, Halloween Party & Haunted House--we'll be adding a 30-minute organ concert, with spooky music played by our own Victoria Shields. Don't miss it!

We meet about four times a year in a parishioner's home, and our next book is "Paul, the Mind of the Apostle" by A.N. Wilson. Sign up below and we'll send along the address for our next gathering. We are so thankful for each and every pledge made to St. James. Ongoing financial contributions from parishioners are how Episcopal churches operate.
