Have You Made Your 2025 Pledge?Make Your Pledge Before this Friday to be Included in our Christmas Eve Honor Roll! Pledges made in advance and paid throughout the year are vital to our parish. This is how Episcopal parishes support themselves, from the ground up. If you enjoy worship or any of the programs at St. James the Less, please show your support by making a financial pledge. For more information, scroll down this email. To make your pledge, click the button below. Thank you!!! Some useful facts about our Appeal and Budget: • The average pledge at St. James is ~$3600. Some give less, some give more, based on their ability. • Of our $900,000 budget, we need to raise $485,000 in parishioner pledges to keep our current programming and staff. • With 150 families and a $900,00 budget, it costs $6,000 per family to run St. James. • So far we've raised $386,500 with 113 pledges now in. • People pledge from as close by as me, right on our church campus, to as far away as Toronto. • Every household counts and makes St. James the thriving, fulfilling place that it is! How Do We Spend Our Money?
St. James the Less does a lot on a limited income! This pie chart explains how we spend our money. The annual budget is voted on by the elected vestry, and monitored throughout the year by the vestry and Finance Committee. |
Where Does Our Money Come From?
There are four major sources of income to cover expenses, but the primary one is parishioner pledges. The more we can grow this slice of the pie, the better we'll be positioned for the long term at St. James. |
Frequently Asked Questions
We put together a document of "Frequently Asked Questions" for this year's appeal, with questions like: How much should I give? Can't I just put money into the offering plate when I come to church? What is my pledge used for? Does St. James the Less receive money from the Diocese of New York? And much more.
