Spiritual Threads, a Lenten Practice of Comfort & CommunityLast Gathering is Tonight April 3, 7:30 - 9 pm in the Rector's Office (upstairs) Join us for our final evening in Lent. Needlework has long been more than just a craft – it’s a thread that weaves us together in fellowship. Whether gathered in living rooms, community centers, or coffee shops, women have used needlework circles as a space for connection, storytelling, and shared wisdom. In these gatherings, knowledge is passed down, encouragement is exchanged, and friendships are stitched together, just like the fiber in |

Taking a Stance St. James in the 1950s-70s and The Holly Ball AffairSunday, April 6 at 11:45 am Parishioner, lifelong area resident, and history teacher John McNally talks to us about one of the most famous events for St. James on a national stage: the rector's refusal of Communion to the parishioners who denied access of a young Christian man of Jewish parentage to the Scarsdale Golf Club's annual debutante ball, the Holly Ball. John will be joined by Geff Kempsell, the son of that rector, the Rev, George Kempsell, who rememebers the event and its aftermath well, and also people who remember hearing the sermon itself. Optional Healing PrayerSunday April 6, 9 & 10:30 am Parishioners have the option on the first Sunday of each month (both services) to receive healing prayers for themselves or a loved one after receiving Holy Communion. Prayers are said by certified lay chaplains in a quiet space (our chapel) and kept always confidential. NEW: Lay chaplains are also available to take Communion to you or to a loved one if you're unable to make it to church. We're happy to visit anyone at all, even just to lend a listening ear or say a quiet prayer together. Our chaplains are here to support our parishioners in hard times, so please call on us! Send a confidential email to: laychaplains@stjamesscarsdale.org. |

Our "Primal Identity" is as that son in the arms of a loving God, which we're reminded of right when we need it, here at the midway point of Lent. Civil Rights PilgrimageLast Week to Express Interest! Interested in taking an intergenerational Civil Rights pilgrimage to Georgia and Alabama? About twenty parishioners made the trip three years ago, and it was an incredible time. We'll visit Ebenezer Baptist Church, to Equal Justice Initiative Museum, walk across the Edmund Pettus Bridge, meet people who were part of the Civil Rights movement in the 60s, and get to know each other on this meaningful tour of the south. The pilgrimage is led by Etgar 36 Tours, and the cost per person is ~1000.00, depending on the size of the family (and shared hotel rooms). It's worth every penny. If kids (7th grade and up) attend, we have scholarships available and fundraising opportunities. Complete the short inquiry form below, and Mo. Storm will reach out with more information. There are TWO DATES available: October 12, 13 & 14, and February 15, 16 & 17 (both Sun-Tues). Specify on the inquiry form which date you prefer. We need 20 people to make it happen, so please let us know if you're interested as soon as possible! For more infomation visit:
