Spiritual ThreadsTONIGHT March 27 & Next Thursday April 3, 7:30 - 9 pm “For it was you who formed my inward parts; you knit me together in my mother’s womb” (Psalm 139:13) Lent is an excellent time to begin or renew a spiritual practice. A time to stop, reflect on our own lives. Needlework has long been more than just a craft – it’s a thread that weaves us together in fellowship. Whether gathered in living rooms, community centers, or coffee shops, women have used needlework circles as a space for connection, storytelling, and shared wisdom. In these gatherings, knowledge is passed down, encouragement is exchanged, and friendships are stitched together, just like the fiber in Join us for three Thursday evenings in Lent when we will gather to knit, crochet, quilt, needlepoint and explore our spirituality and develop new friendships. Where: Mother Storm's Office |

Taking a Stance St. James in the 1950s-70s and The Holly Ball AffairSunday, April 6 at 11:45 am Parishioner, lifelong area resident, and history teacher John McNally talks to us about one of the most famous events for St. James on a national stage: the rector's refusal of Communion to the parishioners who denied access of a young Christian man of Jewish parentage to the Scarsdale Golf Club's annual debutante ball, the Holly Ball. John will be joined by Geff Kempsell, the son of that rector, the Rev, George Kempsell, who rememebers the event and its aftermath well, and also people who remember hearing the sermon itself. Last Sunday's SermonSo Much Depends on Turning Aside, by Mo. Storm In last Sunday's sermon, Mo. Storm talks about the importance of "turning aside," as Moses did the day he encounted the burning bush. What might we be missing every day in our headlong rush forward, to the next thing, and then the next? Cultivate a life where turning aside is a priority, and see where that takes you. Like Moses, it might be to some incredible places. For more infomation visit: http://stjamesscarsdale.org/media/2025-03-23-so-much-depends-on-turning-aside

Civil Rights PilgrimagePlease Let Us Know If You're Interested by April 6 Interested in taking an intergenerational Civil Rights pilgrimage to Georgia and Alabama? About twenty parishioners made the trip three years ago, and it was an incredible time. We'll visit Ebenezer Baptist Church, to Equal Justice Initiative Museum, walk across the Edmund Pettus Bridge, meet people who were part of the Civil Rights movement in the 60s, and get to know each other on this meaningful tour of the south. The pilgrimage is led by Etgar 36 Tours, and the cost per person is ~1000.00, depending on the size of the family (and shared hotel rooms). It's worth every penny. If kids (7th grade and up) attend, we have scholarships available and fundraising opportunities. Complete the short inquiry form below, and Mo. Storm will reach out with more information. There are TWO DATES available: October 12, 13 & 14, and February 15, 16 & 17 (both Sun-Tues). Specify on the inquiry form which date you prefer. We need 20 people to make it happen, so please let us know if you're interested as soon as possible! For more infomation visit:
